ALL THE TIME!

People always thought Clyde was crossed with a spaniel or something but no, his mom was also long haired and his dad had a flat coat.  Apparently the long coat is recognized by kennel clubs in Europe and is quite popular.  The lineage comes from the Queen Mum having bred it in with her corgis.  I have no idea how that’s possible, but that’s the story. 

We did keep him trimmed relatively short on his body and feet because he got too hot/would chew the fur out from between his pads if it was too long but Clyde always had the fluffy puff tail.  That’s about the only thing I don’t miss about him, was having to give him a monthly haircut.

I think in that picture he was due for his monthly clip and had just had a bath so he was extra fluffy, especially beside Miss Alice with her smooth puppy-like coat.
